His Royal Highness Senior Chief Kalindawalo’s Welcome Speech to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pluger, Bible Translator Experts on 14th September 2011 at Chimwemwe Executive Lodge

September 21, 2011

Mr. and Mrs. Pluger, their Royal Highnesses, fellow Nsenga Chiefs here present:

Allow me to express my greatest gratitude on behalf of the entire Nsenga Royal Establishment and their leaders present at this occasion.

I stand here to say a few words of welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pluger and their son for having agreed to come to Petauke to assist in the noble cause of translating the Word of God into the Nsenga Language. As we all know, once the Bible has been translated into Nsenga many more people will be enabled to hear and read the Word in a language of their own. The obvious implication is that of deeper understanding of the Word to the level it cannot be attained in a second language!

It is in this vein that I, on behalf of all Nsenga Chiefs, express deepest gratitude to the Pluger family for having agreed to come over to help in this exercise which will lead to better understanding of God’s Word in our own language. For the Plugers, we appreciate the sacrifice you are making in leaving your comfortable and hi-tech economy for Petauke. I pray to God that your commitment deepens as you work here with us.

We the Nsenga Chiefs, on our part, will keep open our doors for you should needs arise at all times! So feel free to contact any one of us in this regard.

I with you God’s guidance as you start this long journey of the Nsenga Bible Translation.

I thank you.
